Welcome

You don’t have to carry it on your own.

As human beings we hold a great deal inside — emotionally, psychologically, socially. Sometimes the things we’ve been through are hard to think about, and harder still to say out loud. You might feel you’d be burdening others, or that it’s too private to share. But what we keep in tends to stay with us, and everyday stress builds on top of it.

Counselling offers something different: a confidential, unhurried space with someone you can trust, to examine your thoughts and feelings and make sense of where you are. Could it be the right step for you?

How I can help

Support through life’s difficult chapters

Anxiety & depression

Ongoing worry, low mood, isolation, low self-esteem, difficulty sleeping, or feeling unable to cope.

Loss & trauma

Bereavement, divorce, fleeing conflict, displacement, or losses that were never given a chance to be grieved.

Relationships & family

Difficulty forming or sustaining relationships, separation from children, abuse, or growing up in a difficult home.

Identity & belonging

Questions of sexual identity, or the strain of adjusting to a new country, culture, language and way of life.

Adjustment & change

Moving for work or study, cultural shock, expatriate and diplomatic transitions, and adjustment disorder.

Anger, guilt & regret

Long-held anger, guilt or shame, addiction, and the patterns that quietly shape everyday life.

Why it matters

Therapy works best in the language you feel in.

Some things are almost impossible to put into a second language. I’m fluent in Arabic, Somali and English, and offer therapy in all three equally — so you can speak about what matters in the words that come naturally, without translating your own feelings first.

How sessions work

Simple, confidential, on your terms.

We meet regularly — usually weekly — for around 50 minutes, either for a fixed period or open-ended, whatever suits you. Everything we discuss is completely confidential.

Sessions take place online by video call (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Skype, FaceTime or WhatsApp) or by telephone, so we can work together wherever you are in the UK. In-person rooms are available in West London by arrangement.

Taking the first step is often the hardest part.

If something here resonates, let’s talk. A short, free consultation — no commitment, just a conversation.
